Like Joan of Arc

Like Joan of Arc
We take our strongest souls and burn them bright
Destroying all the hope they bring in the flame lit night

Like Joan of Arc
We mourn their loss, but given now the choice
Again we would destroy that soul and silence that sweet voice

The darkness of the world can only briefly bear the light
And then it must retreat into the silence of the night

But how far can we go without a light to lead the way
How long are we doomed to night, denied the light of day
